| What is dry foam? |
| There are actually 2 types of dry foam: Petroleum Dry Foam and Enzyme-based Dry Foam. Both work equally well to break down oils and soils in carpeting, upholstery, and any other fabrics besides raw silk, polished cotton, or Tahitian cotton. However, we choose to use an enzyme dry foam as we feel adding petroleum to your fine carpet and upholstery can re-attract soil & dirt at a faster rate. |
|
| How long does the carpet cleaning process take? |
↑ Back to top |
| Anywhere from 30 minutes to a full day depending on what you're having cleaned, the size of your house, the amount of furniture to be moved and the amount of soil to be recovered. |
|
| Will I need to be home when the cleaning's being done? |
↑ Back to top |
| Yes and no. Yes, we prefer you to be there the day of the cleaning to point out any problem spots, stains, or areas of personal concern. And no, all of our technicians pass a drug and criminal background check, and Request is licensed and insured. Our technicians have locked up for our clients in the past, and will happily do so for you when they're done. Our techs also check in at the start of a job, as well as check out at the end of a job with the main office so we know when the technician is there, and we'll be glad to relay that information to you if you would like. |
|
| Do you move our furniture? |
| Yes, we do move most furniture. However, there are limitations: We don't move china cabinets full of dishes and glass, waterbeds, certain entertainment centers. We do move just about everything else. If you have any concerns about breakables placed on any items, please take the time before your appointment to move those to a safe place (like a kitchen counter) so they're safe during the moving and cleaning. |
|
| How soon will I be able to walk on my carpet again? |
↑ Back to top |
| Immediately with light traffic. However, we ask you to be careful stepping from your freshly cleaned carpet to any hard surfaces as we would hate to see you slip and fall. |
|
| How safe are Request's cleaning methods & products? |
↑ Back to top |
| Our products are safe for children, pets, and anyone with allergies. Of course, we will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have. |

|
| Can all stains be removed? |

| That in itself is a play on words. The very nature of the root of the the word "stain" is, well, stain, and stains do not come out. We can remove spots that have not removed or added color to your carpet. |
|
| What's the difference from hiring a professional compared to just cleaning it myself? |
↑ Back to top |
| The difference makes the two uncomparable! Carpet cleaning is what we at Request do for a living. The average house contains over $20,000 worth of carpet, upholstery, windows, draperies, and blinds on average. It's like asking if you would try to service your Rolex on your own. We dedicate ourselves to an excellent cleaning, and see to it that you get nothing less than the best! |
|
| What are the differences between wet and dry cleaning? |
↑ Back to top |
- Dry Cleaning: There's only one true dry cleaning method. Both types of cleaning are cellulite solvent or cornstarch based derivatives. Both are sprinkled on your carpet and vacuumed off.
- Dry Foam: Uses the least amount of water and has one of the fastest drying times.
- Chem Dry: Uses a carbonated water cleaning compound.
- Hot Water Extraction: Involves traditional vaccum and hose technology, and hot water ranging from 160°C to 210°C.
- Steam Cleaning: Anything higher than 212°F, which we don't personally advocate.
